La Ventanita is Miami’s most emblematic coffee window serving the restaurant’s revered Cuban Cafecito, including the “cortadito” and “coladas.” It is at the center of Versailles’ cultural significance as a stomping ground for Cuban exiles and an outpost for the media.
Versailles founder and Cuban exile Felipe Valls Sr. is attributed as the first person to develop and architect this walk up window concept “Ventanita” (translates to small window in Spanish).
The concept has become popularized since its inception and can now be found across Miami. It is a customary stop for locals to have a coffee break, a snack (such as croquetas, pastries, even cigars) and a friendly banter.
